One of the most important classes that we offer for Teens is in partnership with the Goodlettsville Police Department. Each summer, Commander Audra Cherry takes some time to teach teens about Distracted Driving. In this class, there is no behind the wheel training, but teens do gain an understanding of how a split second can change their lives and the lives of those their actions affect.
This class is free of charge, but class size is limited, so pre-registration is required.
The 2018 class takes place on Friday, June 29th from 1:00-3:00pm at the Goodlettsville Event Center.
Self Defense Awareness Class
In this one day Self Defense Awareness Class, teens will be taught the importance of being aware of what is going on around them and will be given some tips on how to defend themselves if a need arises.
The 2018 class is taught by Melvin Brown and will take place at the Goodlettsville Community Center on Friday, July 27th from 1:00-3:00pm.
Inter-generational Art Class
Year round, the Community Center offers painting classes for senior adults, but each summer, teens are invited to this class to create one of a kind artwork together and swap stories. No supplies are needed, but an interest in art and listening and talking to those from another generation is required. Bring a sack lunch or snack.
The Delmas Long Community Center has a gym that is available for open basketball most days of the week as well as pickleball and on Wednesdays, for volleyball. Check out the summer gym schedule for details on times.
